New images of the 2 year olds and our yearling: Quigley, Jomai, Tyke and Jack. Quigley is the big grey, Tyke the very compact and muscular dark dun, Jomai is the smokey black, and Jack is our little dark sorrel who appears to be greying also. Quigley and Jack are full brothers and hang out together all the time.

Pharao moves!
*ZZ Jack's Royal Pharao has moved to his new home in Bavaria! After being with us for a wonderful two years, it was time for his new owners to take him home. Pharao looks just like Lark, and is developing beautifully. He was very calm about leaving the herd off the ski slope where the boys are this summer. He loaded into the trailer very quietly and just looked out the little door as if so say, and so what are we doing now? At his new stall, everyone was so astonished about how quiet and well-mannered he is even though he's still a stallion! His owners are so happy with our breeding and training they said the following:
Everything is going well. It could not be better.
He feels really good now. Eats well, rolls over and snorts to himself.
Is he well, the Pharaoh.
It is curious about him, I can feel the aura of the Traunsee (our Lake), as if he had brought one piece of your beautiful landscape and lake with him.
Summer Crazy!
It has been a very busy and crazy summer. Toward the end of June Karen had a bad fall off a horse and injured her right shin. It is better now, but it took a long time to heal, and it is still not perfect, maybe never will be. She is riding again though and working on updates. The gardens are beautiful, the horses fat and lazy! Karen is working on new projects for you all. Riding courses and TV. Stay tuned for new developments.
Moon?
It looks like Moon is sold. We are very excited about this development, and will tell you more soon. It also looks like Moon will be still staying with us for about a year with her new owner. It will be great fun to watch the two share moments together, develop and ride.
Visitors!!!!
So many visitors have been by to make allergy tests. We've really enjoyed having everyone. Most everyone found horses they were not allergic too. Which is what it is all about.
This week we enjoyed Peter and his family from England. This was a very special meeting. It was euphoric watching as he tested the Curlies and showed none of the life-threatening allergies to them. Peter, like Karen, rode as a young person intensively until his allergies made it impossible to ride a normal horse.
On Lark, He was able to ride for hours, and Karen and Peter took a trip on mountain trails and stopped at Cafe Fanny. Peter did show a little skin reaction to the saliva of some horses but not others, and he had no problems at all spending hours in the stall or on a Curly. In all, he had a fantastic time and it reminded us of just how much a miracle Curlies can be. Congrats Peter! We are looking forward to hearing more from Peter and his lovely family. Sadly, we did not get pictures, we hope that maybe they will forward some!
Painting!
While Karen has been injured she has returned to painting. Her first painting in years is in oil. She is using old-master techniques of underpainting, glazing, working lights, middle tones, reflected lights and deep shadows, glazing and finally alla prima. The subject of this painting is from a picture of ZZ Magic Jackson Joe. The second painting she is working on is for a Curly friend, Marianne Bornemark. Now that Karen has returned to painting, she will be continuing to do so and once she has establish a few examples, may be taking orders for portraits or landscapes. Keep an eye out for more info. Here are some slide shows to see how the paintings are progressing.
