Stallions

*SS Clooney

*SS Clooney
Named after George Clooney, this young stallion is a cool dude. He is very calm, loves people, and enjoys playing around. He was born in 2002, and enjoys kissing the mares. Clooney is now an experienced breeding stallion with 3 foals on the ground from 2005 and 2006. This year, 2006, Clooney is being bred to RR Rescue Me for a 2007 foal.

*Clooney is from half Bad Warrior, a quarter Fredell and a quarter Damele bloodlines (see History page for more information about the various bloodlines). He is now a dappled grey over dun, but will most likely turn to white later like his father. He has a Western Stockhorse body style, light sporty movement, and very nice curls, his mane and bushy tail are tightly spiraled and very long. He has medium body curl.

Pedigree *Clooney

*CCG Warrior Billy Jack

*Warrior Billy Jack

The first near full-blooded Eli Bad Warrior stallion in Europe! *Billy Jack was our very first purchase for the Curlies Austria breeding program. He stems from the original Ernest Hammrich herd, the last of which was being maintained by Donna Vickery, and was born in Pryor Montana on the Crow Indian Reservation. He is presently four years old and is an established breeding stallion, our mares Lark, Magic and Moon are expecting foals in 2007 from BJ!

*Billy Jack is a very nice black color with two white hind feet and a broad blaze. He is a smaller horse, with a heavy muscular butt, and long trapping movement similar to that of his father, Warrior Black Velvet. He has a straighter frizzy mane and long tail, but has very tight body curls in winter.

*Billy Jack is out of nearly pure Warrior bloodlines, has very nice movement and rare coloring. He has great respect for people, is quiet, courageous and fair. He is our dominant stallion and a good herd leader.

Mares

*SS Jo Jo's Nevada Promise

Jo Jo, our Morgan/Arabian curly mare Image © Sorrel
*Jo Jo carries the Promise of Nevada Red, the Arabian stallion that gave so much of his character to many of the Damele Horses (see History page) and her great-great grandsire. She is a chestnut sorrel mare with one white sock on her left hind foot and a very small white star. She has a wonderful Morab body style and a very light, flowing movement. She is developing into an outstanding mare. She is very intelligent and enjoys playing and nuzzling, and usually wins the hearts of all our visitors.

*Jo Jo is of half Cypress and half Damele bloodlines. She has very nice curly locks an all four feet and in her mane and tail. In Summer, she sports a spiral mane with lots of blond mixed in, and a long tail. She has a sport body type, has grown taller than expected and will begin her training in Fall this year.

*RR Rescue Me

*RR Rescue Me, our trained to ride mare! *RR Rescue Me, born in 1997, is a curly mare bred and trained by Verlin Rau of Rosebud River Curly Horses. She is a bay (dark red with black mane, tail and legs) and has a white thin blaze and three white socks. Her sire, *Sockeye, is very well known in Canada and was considered one of the best Curly stallions in North America out of Damele breeding and her dam, Party Doll, is out of the Cypress, Ole Skjonsberg and Damele stock. *RR Rescue Me is quite tall, 159 cm at the shoulder. She has successfully competed in Endurance Trail riding competitions and will participate in our breeding and riding programs. She has a wonderful trot that is very comfortable to sit, moves elegantly and has a sensitive personality. She has represented the Curly Horse at the Wels Horse Fair, in parades, and in an Austrian TV Film. Rescue Me is also exposed to Clooney for a 2007 foal.

*Montana Blue Magic

*Magic, also our trained to ride mare! *Montana Blue Magic, born in 1989, is a curly mare from the plains of North America. She is tained to ride and was often used in ranch work and by dudes in Summer. She is a very rare, olive grulla, color and also carries the creme gene producing palomino (golden color with white mane and tail) foals. She has produced two wonderful foals for us, a palomino filly in 2004 named *Magic's Early Morning Rose out of *Seeker's Warrior (Donna Vickery of Crow Curly Horses in Montana) and a smokey black colt in 2005, *ZZ Magic Jackson Joe, out of our stallion *CCG Warrior Billy Jack. She is bred to Billy Jack for a 2007 foal. Magic has been retired from riding due to arthritis from an old injury and is being exclusively used as a brood mare at this time.

Pedigree *Montana Blue Magic

Magic's Early Morning Rose

Rose, our new baby! Rose is a lively bouncy foal filly. She is very muscular and appears to be a palomino with strong dun factor (a dunalino?). She has a dorsal stripe and striping on her legs, but is a very light creamy color. To begin with she appeared apricot, now she is yellowing out a bit more. Rose has a lovely refined head, curly on her head, back and hind-quarters, full fuzzy ears, but may be a smooth coat curly. She has light grey eyes and is very trusting and friendly. Rose is by Seeker's Warrior (making her a half-sister to Lark) out of Magic.

*Grulla Vaquera Lark

*Grulla Vaquera Lark A quiet and good riding mare with wonderful conformation and color, *Grulla Vaquera Lark is the daughter of a lovely non-characteristic Appaloosa mare, Might B Dun Lark'n. *Lark as we call her (it's easier than *Vaquera for most here!), has a lovely light blueish undertone beneath her mousey colored curls. Her face has a teddy bear look to it, as her eyes and muzzle are covered by dark chocolate color. We are very excited to have this wonderful mare here, she has championship bloodlines on her mother's side (Mighty Bright - Appaloosa Hall of Fame, and Vaquero Lark - Working Cow Horse Champion), and is the daughter of an outstanding stallion, *Seeker's Warrior. Not only is she a Grulla but she carries the creme gene, making her a smokey grulla, enabling her to have palomino and buckskin foals. She was born in 1999, and has recently won 1st place in Class B of a trail compeition. *Lark is the mother of our other filly, Warrior White Moon, and of the 2005 filly, *ZZ Jack's Lark'n Lady, now at Riverside Curly Horses in Germany.

Pedigree *Grulla Vaquera Lark

Warrior White Moon

Warrior White Moon A beautiful cremello filly with blue eyes, Warrior White Moon is actually a straight-haired curly that is hypoallgerenic! She was born in 2002, the same age as *Clooney, *Jo Jo, and *Billy Jack, so she has lots of friends to hang around with. She is very mellow and calm. White Moon displays the curly characteristics without the curly coat. She is most amazing because she does not cause allergies in us even though she is a "straight." Because she is a straight curly, she does not have a "*" before her name. Her coloring means she has two times the creme gene. This means that every foal she produces in the future will have a "dilute" color, so palomino or buckskin colored foals, for example. Since her mother *Vaquera Lark also carries the "Dun" gene (which makes her a Grulla!), it is possible that under all that creme Warrior White Moon may be a dun also. Whatever the case, White Moon will always produce fancy color! Moon is expecting her first foal in 2007 from *Warrior Billy Jack, and will be brought under saddle soon.
