Training, Riding and Hippotherapy for Allergy Sufferers

Many allergy sufferers have never had the chance before to learn how to ride or handle a horse. We understand this problem and offer a training and riding program. Our lessons are not only for people with allergies, however we are only using tested Curly Horses so that allergie sufferers will not have reactions (or very little reactions) in our program. Every participant with allergies will be thoroughly checked with our riding horses to determine if any reaction is evident before riding can begin. Our customers that have themselves chosen and purchased a horse from us are invited to join in our riding lessons or ground training with their new horse!

Natural Horsemanship with Karen Zierler

Karen Zierler has been training intesively in Natural Horsemanship techniques which built on her previous horse experience. These techniques were developed in the USA by various trainers and use herd psychology in the training of the horse. Natural Horsemanship ground training teaches the owner how to handle a horse and teaches the horse the important basic rules on the way to preparing the horse for riding. The horse and owner work in the "round pen" (a small round corral), on in the hand, walk, trot, direction changes, holding distance to the person leading, and preparing for the saddle. The Natural Horsemanship techniques are general and will prepare the horse for either Western or English riding. Karen Zierler works with you so that you learn yourself how to work with a horse, and so that you and your horse come to a good understanding.

Training of Your Choice

If Natural Horsemanship Training is not for you, we offer other training lessons based on your wish of trainer. In our region, there are several riding stables and horse trainers. We invite the trainer to our facility to work with you and your horse, since we have only Curly Horses here so that if you suffer from allergies you do not have to worry about strong reactions breaking out. Trainers will be prepared so that only clean, or our, tack will be used so that contamination from normal horses will not be a problem.

Riding lessons are arranged regularly, please contact us for information on dates and availabilty. We also provide individual 10 hour courses that combine Natural Horsemanship and Riding.

We are working toward a program for allergy suffering, special needs children and adults. Our goal is to provide therapy riding with a trained therapist for those who at the moment cannot participate in such programs due to their allergies. We have received very strong support from the local community toward this end. And, we will keep everyone posted as to our progress. Please note that therapy riding is supported by Health Insurance, and should be available to all those that need it.
